Rev. Cyril A. Stevens – Sermon 0015A recorded on December 31, 1978 teaching from John 2, 6, and 13 – Come and Dine in ’79 – Three Changes Christ Made.
Pastor Cyril A. Stevens encourages listeners to spiritually “feed on the living Word of God” by exploring three significant transformations Christ initiated, as detailed in the Gospel of John. Stevens highlights the beginning of the union at the wedding in Cana (John 2), where Jesus sanctified marriage and exemplified God’s complete nature. He then moves to the maintenance or keeping of the union at the feeding of the five thousand near the Sea of Tiberias (John 6), illustrating how Jesus multiplies and sustains what little we offer. Finally, Pastor Stevens addresses the consummation of the union at the Passover (John 13), where Jesus’ act of foot-washing and the institution of communion symbolize deep fellowship, a shift from sacrifice to shared intimacy at the table of the Lord, inviting all to partake in the abundant life found in Him.
